What does fashion mean? “The final layer.” That’s how Belgian designer Martin Margiela once answered in an interview, referring to a philosophy that understands clothing as a connecting layer, a medium between people, and an expression of one’s own identity. This idea not only inspired Constantin Ungruhe to name his first vintage shop “Final Layer” in Prenzlauer Berg, but also continues to shape his attitude towards fashion today.
